I received my Bachelor's degree in English Education from South Caroina State University in 1997, and I received my Master's from Lesley University in Curriuculm and Instruction in 2010. In addition, I have taken some leadership courses through Walden and Capella University in 2015.

In 1998, I began my teaching career as a seventh grade middle school teacher at Denmark-Olar Middle School in Denmark, SC, where I taught for only one year. In 1999, my passion to teach at the high school level drove me to pursue my teaching career at my alma mater, Calhoun County High School where I have been teaching for the past nineteen years.

I was born and raised in Cameron, SC, and I am a product of Calhoun County Public Schools. Currently, I serve as the District Teacher of the Year for 2017-18 school year. During my tenure at Calhoun County High School, I have served in various capacities such as English department chairperson, Saints Success Curriculum Coordinator, Professional Learning Community leader, lead advisor for 10th grade, and a teacher who  is willing to go the extra mile to assist my colleagues in whatever way I can. I am also the Beta Club advisor and am currently spearheading a new leadership organization with Ms. Amie Barton at CCHS. In myfree time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, cooking, event planning, reading and traveling.
